Abstract


TURKISH PROVERBS IN VRAPCISHTE (MACEDONIA)
Vrapcishte, a small town in Western Macedonia is intensively lived by Turks. The Turkish culture, language and traditions began markedly to feel themselves in this small town by the second half of the XV century. One of the most important oral traditions of Turkish culture yileds are the proverbs. The proverbs, follow the system of values of a society, in short they offer a sophisticted specificartions of a culture. Proverbs, are considered as the common yield of people’s wisdom. The majority of Turkish proverbs used in Vrapcishte, constitute examples, which reflect the relationships between the people. In terms of the contents, generally is in common with the image of Turkey and Turkish proverbs. However, it is also seen that some features are similar to other Balkan nations’ proverbs. The purpose of this study is to provide the world of science by dialect the Turkish proverbs used in Vrapcishte.
