Abstract

OSMAN ÖZTUNÇ AND ZEMAHŞER, THE FATHER OF A NEW FORM OF POET
Minstrel Literature is a deep-rooted literature and it is a literature that continues from the day the Turks took the stage of history. Considering the variety of products produced by minstrels in such a deep-rooted literature, the subject of genre and form is still a controversial issue. While some researchers talked about the importance of the genre, others accepted the melody as a distinguishing feature. However, due to the difference of opinion, the researchers could not meet at a common point. While these discussions were going on, our lovers did not stand idly by, and they continued to form new forms (denkleme, dörtleme, tekrarlama, öyküleme, etc.). One of these shapes is ZeMahşer, "contiguous poetry" in the words of Doğan Kaya, which has emerged recently. Based on the principle that at least two poems are brought together and presented as a single poem, ZeMahşer consists of 3 to 15 syllables, varsağı, güzelleme, lebdeğmez, semai, tecnis, ilahi and divan style. The most important representative of this new form of poetry is Osman Öztunç, an artist who was kneaded with Turkish-Islamic culture, who grew up in the mood and thought of Ahmet Yesevi, the founder of Turkish Sufism, and who is in love with the country and the nation. Öztunç has 20 poems to this day. Among these poems, he wrote 14 poems in the form of ZeMahşer and 6 poems as ZeMahşer Embracing. Poems are usually written in mystical and didactic style. In this article, the new form of poetry and poems by Osman Öztunç called ZeMahşer will be discussed.
