Abstract
THE SUN İN TUNCELİ FOLK CULTURE AND BELİEF
Celestial and celestial bodies have had an important place in the culture and belief world of human beings since the earliest periods of history.The sun, which contributes to the formation of living life on earth with the energy it emits, has been the subject of many symbolic ascriptions.It is possible to come across folk beliefs about the sun in every region of the world.In Turkey, there are folk beliefs about the sun in almost every region.Tunceli is one of the places where there are many people related to the sun in our country.The people of Tunceli have great respect for every being found in nature.As a result of this respect, the sun occupies an important place among the holy places of the local people, who have developed beliefs about many beings in nature.The local people, who give various meanings to the sunrise, sunset and eclipse of the sun, adopt many beliefs about the sun and carry out various practices in this direction.The beliefs about the sun are accepted by the majority of the local people. In this study, the beliefs about the sun among the people in Tunceli province and the reflections of these beliefs in the society will be evaluated.
