Abstract
THE THEMATIC VOCABULARY OF İSMAIL HABIB SEVÜK'S WORKS TITLED "YURTTAN YAZILAR" AND "TUNA’DAN BATI’YA"
When we talk about the vocabulary of a language, we understand not only the words of that language, but also the whole formed by idioms, stereotypes, proverbs, terms and various expression patterns. Both historical and recent works need to be examined in this respect. Learning the number of words, the frequency of words, the distribution and frequency of phrases that our writers and poets have used to express their thoughts, beliefs, lifestyles, ideologies, education and knowledge clearly are important for language studies. How and in what way these words are used and which meanings are conveyed are the reflections of the author's style and personality. On the one hand, while revealing the vocabulary belonging to each century, on the other hand, with the idea of making studies that will evaluate the special dictionaries and expression patterns reflecting the stylistic features of poets and writers, our article will focus on the literary historians, educators and writers of the 1900s, who also achieved outstanding success in travel writing, and the language We focused on the thematic vocabulary of İsmail Habib Sevük's works titled "Yurttan Yazılar" and "Tuna’dan Batı'ya", which we enjoyed.
