Abstract


THE PLACE OF HEALTH IN HUMAN NATURE AND PRACTICES OF FOLK MEDICINE IN TURKISH EPIC
Healing, resurrection, and shape-shifting are used to get rid of and avoid these negative effects in response to spells made by directing evil spirits to bring disease, disaster. The fact that the motif of healing gives information about folk medicine shows the historical basis of healing by natural means. The resurrection motif is the human manifestation of the myth of creation. In the context of folk medicine, it can be mentioned that there are practices belonging to the Central Asian and Shamanic culture and to treat by making use of nature. Folk medicine, which is carried out by those who have therapeutic power, is a respected and respected practice in the society, and it is known that healers have healing properties with medicinal plants in mythological epics. The resurrection motif in Turkish epics can also find a place in the healing motif. In order to regain health, practices such as healing of wounds are carried out in the resurrection of the deceased. Magical words, herbs and sacred objects used in healing or resurrection gain meaning with the mystical power of words and rituals. In this study, after focusing on the place of treatment in human nature, its importance and curatives, the practices of folk medicine, which are found in Turkish epics that show their existence in a very wide geography, will be tried to be revealed and analyzed.
