Abstract

TRIAL OF THE CLASSIFICATION OF THE VOICE SUFFIXES IN ROMANIAN CONSTANTA CRIMEAN TURKISH DIALECT
Romanian Constanta Dialect, which is used as a basis of our study represents the Crimean Turkish language with its distinctive dialect features despite of being located completely in different geographical region. Constana dialect, which contains elements of Kipchak Turkish, is spoken by the Crimean Nogais and the Crimean Turks in Romania, Bulgaria and Turkey. Constanta Dialect was formed within a borders of today’s Romania Dobruja region as a result of migration movements of Crimean Turks who fled after occupation of Crimea in 1783. In today's linguistic studies, the definition, functions and classification of voice suffixes create conflicting situations and confusion, leading to controversial opinions. Linguists misinterpret voice suffixes with derivational suffixes, considering derivation of the verbs from the verbs due to change of the voice verb. In order to prevent this issue and reach reasonable conclusion Constanta Crimean Dialect texts, spoken in Romania region were compilated and voice suffixes were explained and possible problems were identified. Considering the functions undertaken by the mentioned suffix, its sub-functions will be determined and introduced. A number of sub-morphemes of the suffix we discussed were determined and included in the study based on the sound changes that occur during speech.
