Abstract


DÂNİŞMENDZÂDE ŞEVKET GAVSÎ FROM LAST PERIOD OTTOMAN POETS
“Nazire (parallel poem)”, means a poem is said in the same meter and rhyme by a poetry for a other poetry’s poem. According to classical Turkish poets, writing a “nazire” to a poet’s poem shows that he is respected poet and his poetry style is admired. The tradition of classical Turkish poetry has a rich context, so that there are various poem collects. From XIVth century of classical Turkish poem until the its last period this tradition kept alive, poets has been written “nazire”s each other's favorite poems. Gavsî, last period Ottoman poet, has also “nazire”s. One of the poets who wrote “nazire” is Muallim Naci. Gavsî wrote “nazire”s to Naci’s poems in rhyme of “habîr, mevc mevc, müstenîr, eylerim, your eyes, on the amazement”. These “nazire”s are two ode, two “terbi” and two “tahmîs”.
