Abstract
ASHUG SHENLIK IS IN SOUTH CAUCASUS AND AZERBAIJAN ORAL AND WRITTEN SOURCES
Ashug Shenlik was one of the important ashugs in Turkish folk literature. His life coincides with the boiling period of political tension, war, invasion. Due to the Russian occupation of inhabited region his reputation has spread over a wide geographical area where are in the management of the Russian. The art of ashug Shenlik widespread with the help of saz and written sources in the Caucasus region.
We come across to the name of ashug Shenlik only in some anthologies and journals until 1990, but the first systematic and extensive scientific research has been revealed by Dr. Gasham Veliyev in 1992.
