Abstract
IRAN ASADABAD: ETHNIC SITUATION BASED ON FIELD RESEARCH
Turks population and the region they live in Iran is a very important issue today. Various numbers and information have been cited on this issue at different times and by different researchers. In this study, we will pass statistical information based on field research on ethnic groups and their population, especially Turks, in the province of Asadabad of Hamadan province of Iran. At the beginning of the work, the Turks living in Iran are divided into three groups. The first one is the Southern Azerbaijan region which the Turks live in as a large number and in this work which we have expressed by the tearm of large mass (Urmia, Tebriz, Ardabil, Zanjan, Qazvin, Hamadan), the second is the remote regions from the large mass (Khorasan and Turkmen regions in the northeast, Persian regions in the South which Qashqais lives in it, Sonqor region in the eastern province of Kermanshah), the third is the contact area where the influence of different ethnic groups begins, even though it is part of the large mass. This third group is very important in terms of showing the natural borders of the Turks in Iran today. These regions are also regions where interaction is most intense in order to be the intersection point of different ethnic groups. In this respect, we think that if the researches are carried out in Iran, privileged and priority should be given to the regions especially which we call as contact zones.
