Abstract
SOME REMARKS ABOUT TURKISH TRANSLATION OF anca IN THE OLD TURKIC INSCRIPTIONS
Studies about Old Turkic inscriptions proceed rapidly today. The approach to the inscriptions should now be more detailed in new research. There are still problems with Turkish translating the inscriptions. Detailed explanations should be made on each word for correct understanding of the sentences in the Old Turkic inscriptions. With this thought in mind, we decided to focus on the meaning of anca in published Turkish editions until now. Until today, no other meaning of anca has been noticed in Turkish editions except ‘so’. Until today, only the meaning of ‘so, thus’ was only registered in Turkish editions. In this article, the places where anca exist in three great inscriptions will be examined in detail and the meaning given to the word will be discussed.
