Abstract

MEANINGS AND USAGES OF YAYIN, YAYIM, YAYINLAMAK, YAYIMLAMAK
Words that originate from the same root and are in the same meaning field sometimes cause some wrong usage and confusion of words. It is also possible to see some comments that are aimed at removing this confusion but are in fact wrong. There is also confusion in the use of the yayin, yayim, yayimlamak, yayinlamak. There are also some false beliefs that are not in the dictionaries of the meaning of these words. In this study, the meaning and usage of the words are aforementioned. Major dictionaries of Turkey Turkish, spelling books, dictionares of term were examined, it is revealed whether or not there are aforementioned words in these works that have been examined, and in what sense they are used. At the end of the examination it is seen that yayinlamak is the first Turkish correspondence for nesretmek but the yayinlamak was later replaced by yayimlamak. Yayinlamak has never been used in many dictionaries, especially Turkish dictionaries of Turkish Language Institution (Turk Dil Kurumu) and Language Association (Dil Dernegi), although it is frequently used in everyday life. It has also been found that the "Series, film, radio program is yayin; book, magazine, paper is yayim" comment, which is used to remove the yayin-yayim confusion, does not correspond to the meanings in the dictionaries.
