Abstract


AN EVALUATION ON THE EFFECT OF THE COMMON WORDS BETWEEN TURKISH AND ALBANIAN TO THE ALBANIANS’ TURKISH LEARNING
Throughout the history all the languages, according to their needs, have made use of quotation of certain items from other languages. One of the dimensions of this occasion that appears as interlingual contamination is related to vocabulary. Although vocabulary shows the surface structure of a language, with respect to incorporating many factors such as the way of living, thinking system, traditional structure and production mechanism of a society, it is important to in terms of presenting the codes of that society. One of the languages which Turkish has influenced throughout the history is Albanian. Turkish and Albanian language contact shows parallelism with the historical adventure of the Turks in Balkan geography. Language contact appearing at the time of Turkish communities who, beginning from the V. century, settled down by coming from the North of Black Sea was seen more permanently and intensely beginning from the fact that Balkans came under the domination of Ottoman Turks. Language contact between Turkish and Albanian has not appeared with deep structure but has remained limited with lexical material. Here, Turkish has become prominent with its affecting position. Various views about the contribution and influence of the quotations in foreign language teaching have been presented. At this point, in terms of getting reliable data and developing a method it is necessary to position the structures in language learning which the mother tongue of the learner audience quotes from the target audience. In this essay, the contribution to their language learning by the common words, which the students whose mother tongue is Albanian came across at the time of their Turkish learning, has been tried to be determined. Appearing as a general acceptance, whether the view that the common words provide an advantage is true has been questioned with practice and the results taken from the practically have been evaluated with objective criteria.
