Abstract


TURKISH AS A DIPLOMATIC LANGUAGE: CRIMEAN DIPLOMATIC YARLIQS
The traditions of states about official correspondences include many signs about the cultures that have influenced them and their civilization, administrative organizations and methods about solving the problems of foreign affairs and internal affairs. Therefore, historical and modern official correspondences provide lots of information about political and cultural history and languages of states. In this sense the studies about official correspondences help history, linguistics and diplomatics. Turkish language has been used in official correspondences throughout history by Turkic communities. The language of Ottoman diplomacy that had distinctive style and elements has been shaped under the effects of Arabian and Persian traditions. As for the language of Crimean Khanate diplomacy has been under the effects of Eastern Turkish literary language that has been transferred to the Khanate by The Empire of Turk-Mongol and holding on since the Uyghur’s tradition about official correspondence. Lots of Crimean diplomatic yarliqs that represent the Turkish cultural history and the tradition of official correspondence and diplomacy are the samples of the language of diplomacy that has been consisted by the resources of Turkish language and its structural features. The language of Crimean Khanate diplomacy is the language of diplomacy has been consisted by the resources of Turkish language and its structural features. In this study Crimean diplomatic yarliqs have been investigated.
