In his stories, Necip Fazıl mention edthe gambling, which had deeply influenced his ‘self’, as well as he touched upon it in his theatrical and autobiographical works. In stories, gambling is not merely a game, but it creates an area in which his ‘ego’ took shelter to escape from metaphysical questions, or it creates an ideational ground where he made intellectual effort to find the absolute truth and he built the ego to have the self-awareness. The subject-the ego reaches the idea of creator and the phenomenon of religion by doing the mystery of gambling. In this study, besides the gambling in eight stories is an earthly habit, the connection which the gambling made between its situations like taking the ego’s world over, capturing it, enamoring it unconditionally and shifting the external world’s entity area, and a sufistic and metaphysical world of meaning will be emphasized. It will be concluded that the gambling is a threshold for the ego’s life to pass a metaphysical world.
