Abstract


MARRIAGE IN THE BOOK OF DEDE KORKUT AND FOLK STORIES
Folk culture ensures the harmony and harmony of the individual within the society. In the formation of folk culture, the history, social structure, cultural events and developing technology of the society in which the individual lives are effective. Folk culture products, the expression of Turkish community life, is the basic indicator of the unity of emotions and thoughts. Marriage within Turkish culture is one of the transition periods where the cultural elements of social life are most intense. It is aimed that the individual is happy in his / her new life and protects from the evils with the units and beliefs applied during the marriage period. Religious-magical practices are applied in order to bless the new family member with the beliefs from the old Turks to the present day. In this study, we tried to focus on the practices and practices in the stages of marriage processes such as marriage forms, girls search, girls' request, bold / title, engagement, wedding and wedding, which are included in the book of Dede Korkut and one of our most important works that shed light on the past.
