Özet
Türk edebiyatının önde gelen tarihi roman yazarlarından Mustafa Necati Sepetçioğlu'nun, 1974'te kaleme aldığı Konak romanı, Osmanlı Devleti'nin Kuruluş Devrini konu edinmektedir. Romanın başkişisi olan Kumral Dede, Yesi'den Anadolu'ya gelerek bir konak inşa eder. Osmanlı Devleti'nin kuruluşu ise bu konakla özdeşleştirilerek anlatılmaktadır. Sepetçioğlu'nun açık ve kapalı mekânlara çokça yer verdiği Konak romanında kapalı mekânlar ön plana çıkmaktadır. Dikkat çeken kapalı mekân ise Kumral Dede'nin konağıdır. Romandaki olaylar üzerinde etkili olan, olaylara yön veren ve romanda sembolik değer taşıyan mekânların incelenmeye çalışıldığı bu makalede; mekânın sembolik değeri ve mekânda yaşanan olayların üzerinde durularak mekân unsuru değerlendirilmeye gayret edilmiştir.

Abstract
