Abstract
A LIVESTOCK BOOKLET WRITTEN IN CHAGATAI TURKISH: RİSALE-İ ÇÂRVÂÇILIK
From the XV century to the beginning of the XX century, many and important works in different genres and subjects were produced in Chagatai Turkish, which was used as the language of culture and civilization in Central Asia. Among these works, works related to professions such as leatherwork, shoemaking, milling, cookery, carpentry and farming are among the remarkable types. These works, which were written in a plain language based on speech rather than literary concern, are important in terms of containing and conveying a lot of information about the vocabulary of Turkish, Turkish culture and the social structure of the society of the period.
In this article, a twenty-three-leaf manuscript written in Chagatai Turkish, registered with the name of Risale'i Carwaciliq in Berlin Staatsbibliothek Library number Ms. or. oct. 1658, has been examined in terms of sound and orthographic features, and the work has been transferred through translation and writing.
