Abstract
PAST AND PRESENT OF IMECE CULTURE İN YEŞİLCE
In order for an individual to be a member of the society he lives in, he must learn the core values of that society and apply them in daily life. The core values of societies are important life experiences that add meaning to human life, and they are shaped by the geography in which the individual lives. Depending on this, the life and production style of societies constitute the culture of that society. Labor union to overcome difficult conditions with limited means is one of these cultural products. In other words, “İmece”, also known as “Social Solidarity”, is the name of the cultural heritage of centuries-old mutual assistance and cooperation, especially in rural areas.
In this study, it is emphasized that the imece culture is in danger of disappearing due to migration to big cities and many other reasons. For this reason, it was aimed to raise awareness about the importance and necessity of collaborative culture in the research. In addition, the opinions of the participants were taken about which institutions should support in order to keep the imece culture alive. The aim of the research is to reach a certain judgment by taking the opinions of the participants about the necessity of the "Imece Concept", which is a cultural heritage, for the development of the region and its current application. In this study, a quantitative research method was used to determine the imce culture understanding. As a sample, Yeşilce Neighborhood of Mesudiye district of Ordu province was selected.
