Abstract
ELİFNAME GENRE AND ZEKİ’S ELİFNAME
“Elifname”s are verbal skills that have a special place in divan literature in terms of form and content. Within the tradition, some poets have tried to include “elifname”s in their divans. Studies on “elifname”s are mostly in the nature of introducing the “elifname”s to literature researchers, defining “elifname”s and making determinations about “elifname”s being genre, form or literary art. Although these works in our literature are very few and have many common features, they are diverse. This causes difficulties in defining, classifying and determining whether they are a shape or a type. At this point, researchers have put forward various opinions. In this article, some determinations will be made on the harmony and content characteristics of the “elifname”s by giving information about the “elifname”s in our literature. “Elifname”s are letter-centered texts and the purpose of existence of letters is to produce meaning. Therefore, the purpose of writing “elifname”s may be to produce meaning rather than a harmony that will appeal to the eyes and ears. For this reason, it will be emphasized that “elifname”s can be “genres”. In addition, Zekî, one of the 19th century divan poets, will be introduced and the only “elifname” in her divan will be examined in terms of form and content, and will be presented to the attention of literature researchers.
