Abstract
STANDARD WORD LAYERS IN RABGÛZÎ'S KISASU'L-ENBIYA
Khwarezm Turkish, which is a transition period between Karakhanid Turkish and Chagatai Turkish, one of the historical dialects of the Middle Turkish period; 11-15. It is the name of the written language spoken between the centuries. Khwarezm Turkish, which was in the transition geography, was under the influence of Kipchak and Oghuz Turkish and reflected this to the works of the period. Kisâsü'l-Anbiyâ, which is the source of our research; It is an adapted translation work written by Rabgûzî in 1310, which belongs to the Khwarezm field. In this work, Rabgûzî used phonetic and morphological layers to show that he was influenced by other dialects around him, as well as reflecting the language of the period.
Language features of a dialect are called strata. The use of these language features in a work belonging to another dialect and the formation of a layer with the personal language characteristics of that dialect is called stratification. It is possible to see borrowings from Oghuz Turkish, Chagatai and Kipchak Turkish in the work named Kısâsü'l-Enbiyâ, which we have chosen to represent the language of the works in the field of Khwarezm. Layers formed by Turkish words in the text; Words with different phonetic sequences in terms of the same meaning were examined under three headings: different words for the same meanings and different spellings of the same words. Examples are listed by dividing into noun and verb categories. Apart from this, the layers formed by Turkish words with words borrowed from Arabic and Persian are also seen in the text. Our study was created to identify these words, which are borrowed from the same or another language, causing stratification in the language.
