Abstract
AN EVALUATION ON THE THEME OF SEPARATION IN KASTAMONU TURKISH TURKS
Our folk songs, which make the positive and negative emotions inherent in human nature and the unspeakable, singable, play an important role in Turkish folk culture. Folk songs translate the positive and negative effects of emotions on people. Especially negativities can lead to some consequences that can cause deep wounds in the human soul and push people to loneliness, longing, illness, separation and even death. It would not be wrong to say that poetry is the most frequently used means of expression among different ways of expressing emotions. The magic of poetry and its rhetoric have an important function, playing the role of carrier of emotions. The rhythm between the lines makes the discourse stronger and more effective and helps convey the emotion. Folk songs also have the function of conveying emotions and thoughts performed in this type of poetry. While our folk songs have an important role in carrying our cultural memory to the future, they maintain their place and importance by being renewed beyond the time they were created. Folk songs that deal with topics such as grief, happiness, pain, separation, reunion, trouble, longing, sadness and love have the feature of being the interpreters of the geography in which they are located, the emotions experienced, the philosophy of life and human nature. In this study, an analysis will be made in the context of Kastamonu folk songs by touching on the pain suffered by people from a socio-psychological perspective, the desire to reunite with their lover, and the elements that prevent them from meeting, through the theme of separation in Kastamonu folk songs.
