Abstract
FINDINGS AND COMMENTS ON THE THEMES IN THE 2018 TURKISH TEACHING PROGRAM IN MUSTAFA KUTLU'S WORK CALLED LONG STORY
Education and training in human life is a lifelong process. For this reason, activities in education and training are directly affected by changes in society. During this influence process, experts in their fields prepare education programs by taking into account the needs of the society. These programs are given a general name and called "curriculum". The aim of this study is to identify the themes in the "Turkish Lesson Teaching Program (Primary and Secondary School 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8th Grades)" published in 2018 in Mustafa Kutlu's work called Uzun Hikâye and is to interpret. As it is known, during the implementation of the Turkish Course Curriculum, 8 themes were planned to be covered at each grade level. Of these themes; While the themes of "Virtues", "Our National Culture", "National Struggle and Ataturk" must be covered at every grade level; Apart from the compulsory themes, other given themes are optional. In this context, the text was approached in the light of themes - prioritizing the obligatory themes - and sentences containing the relevant theme in the text were selected and added to the study. The contribution of these themes to the text has also been interpreted in some places. As a result of the study, it has been concluded that Long Story is a text that includes the themes in the Turkish Curriculum and that the text itself can be used while teaching these themes in lessons.
