Abstract
THE PLACE OF THE FATHER FIGURE IN EDUCATION IN SCOPE OF TURKISH NOVELS WRITTEN DURING 1980-2000 PERIOD
Social analysis of the father figure based on meaning and in terms of education in scope of Turkish Novels between 1980-2000 years has been carried out. It has been tried to be determined what kind of relationship existed between novels and sociology about the father in scope of education. By focusing on 1980-2000 period, status of the father figure in scope of education has been discussed, based on selected novels. Texts have been excerpted from different novels to provide variety, so as to increase their social representation power.
The study can be a tool to make contributions in solving the social and familial problems. The testimony of novels has great significance especially for societies that experience depression caused by change and transformation even today, such as our society. A thorough evaluation of these documentary evidence comprised by novel data regarding our country's social conditions and features, may help us to comprehend the past better and to look to the future with much more confidence.
