Abstract
AUTOBIOGRAPHICAL APPEARANCES IN MEHMET BASARAN’S NOVELS
Autobiography, a Word Greek origin, means “the story of one’s own life”. It is a fictionalized account of one’s own story, consiciously or unconsicously. And this transfer to the world creates the “autobiographical novel.” This genre, even if the authors in novel tell their lives one-to-one, subjectivity is unavoidable because the novel is genre belonging to the fictional world, because writers and again with effect of your imagination as you transfer your experiences to fictional world. Mehmet Başaran, a poet, writer and teacher, a graduate of Village İnstitue, who lived between 1926 and 2015; fictionalized important periods of his life he conveys it to the world. For this reason, traces of his biography can be found in his works. Eylülün Kızgın Soluğu, Memetçik Memet and Giz Kokan Suskunluk are suitable to be read with the autobiographical novel method both in terms of narrative technique and in terms of the gain identified in the novels. Mehmet Başaran, in Memetçik Memet, he talks about his years of military service. İn Eylülün Kızgın Soluğu, he focuses on the crisis-filled escape process during the September 12 period. And in Giz Kokan Suskunluk, he emphasizes the passport incident. İn this study, Mehmet Başaran’s novels are analyzed and the relationship between his life and his novel is revealed through the autobiographical novel method.
