Abstract
FİRDEVSÎ-İ RUMÎ'S LOST WORK: TALİ'-İ MEVLÛD (A YILDIZNAME and 12 ANIMAL TURKIC CALENDAR)
In this study, Tali-i Mevlûd, a well-known but not yet revealed work of Firdevsî-i Rumî, one of the authors in the 16th century, is introduced. Although this work of Firdevsî, who who wrote and translated lots of works in many subjects, was mentioned in a few of the other works he wrote, this work has not been reached so far. In the study, information about the contents of the work is presented after giving introductory information about the author and the external structure of the work. In this work, the names of some plants are given as one page while yıldızname (the book of stars) is mainly discussed. The most important one of the features making the work important and interesting is its presenting detailed information about the 12-Animal Turkic calendar which Turks used in pre-Islamic periods. Each year in this calendar, the characteristics of these years and the people born in these years are given by being combined with yıldızname (the book of stars). A detailed presentation of the work is made by dealing with all internal and external structure features.
