Abstract
MYTHOLOGICAL AND LEGENDARY BIRDS IN SÂBİT's DÎVÂN
Before the acceptance of Islam by the Turks and in a much earlier period the birds which had an important place in areas such as an art, literature and mythology took the same role in standard turkish literature. Mostly because of their shapes, colors and voices that they were producing, inevitably accompanied by different stylistic phrasing the birds were used as one of the most important elements in the standard turkish literature. The birds which had been listed in the poems with less or more famous the actual or mythological properties were ambassador imagination of the writer. Certainly there's no classical turkish poet who hasn't used these unavoidable elements (birds). Consequently, to make this kind of poems completely comprehend, assessed, and available to feedback, it's necessary to present the symbols, imaginations, mazmune (archaic language), motivations etc. and everything that contain these elements with deep meaning. In this presentation, we are going to exposure features and particular of mithycal and the legendary birds like Anka – The Goliath Bird, The Simurgh - "Phoenix", The Huma - Homa, The Hoopoe ( Hud-Hud ), Kaknüs, Simurgh Bosnian Aladin Sabit's Divan origin.
We hope the data to which we came during the writing of this description will be useful for an extensive and a more detailed research that will follow.
