Abstract
MARKS OF THE LANGUAGE BEING SYSTEM IN GRAMMATICAL STUDIES
Tendency to adopt language as a system has become widespread as a result of the linguistics movement initiated by Ferdinand de Saussure in the 20th century; outlook on language and accordingly direction of language examinations have changed. Some discourses like that all language units from phoneme to sentence or even post-sentence unit are coded for service to the system, the smallest meaningful unit is not the root, all language units such as suffix, word are meaningful, language consists of not from words but from signifiers, the language units in the system are in horizontal and vertical relations, the language needs to be considered in the context of surface structure and deep structure etc. have been found in language studies. So terms such as receiver, semantic relation, coherence, formal relation, transmission, inference, linearity, variable element, deep structure, intralinguistic reference, nonlinguistic reference, grammatical function, system, vertical relations, lacking repetition, defect, ellipsis, referent, reference, task name, signifier, sign, signified, paralellism, argument ellipsis, argument adding, argument deletion, implication, zero repetition, lexical function, inverted repetition, consistency, transmitter, horizontal relations, surface structure, compulsory element etc. have come to the fore.
