Abstract
THE RELIGIOUS AND ABSTRACT TERMS IN DIVANU LUGATI’T-TURK
Known as the first dictionary of Turkish Language, Divanu Lugati’t-Turk is written by Kasgarli Mahmud in 1074-1077. Kasgarli Mahmud who takes the records of every kind of cultural heritage by analycing the Turk societies for a long time, is not only a person interested in language but also is a geographier and searcher of societies’ literature.
Kasgarli Mahmud who gives a light to the Turkish world because of his important study, makes also possible for us to get clues about the Turkish societies that lived almost 1000 years ago.
This study gives a list of the religious and abstract terms of the spiritual lives of the Turk societies who met Islam in the 10th century after Shamanizm. It’s also shown in an alphabetical order and also insisted on the rate of Turkish lexical entries.
