Abstract
BARTIN’S WIRE-BREAKING EMBROIDERY WORK FROM TRADITION TO FUTURE
Wire-breaking embroidery is one of the most important handicrafts of Bartin province located in the Western Black Sea Region. This form of art is identified with Bartin province and is now called "Bartin’s wire-breaking embroidery" after receiving the Geographical Sign Registration Certificate. The art of Bartin’s wire-breaking embroidery has been found to have undergone many changes from its traditional form to the present day, and that form of art has developed further and moved to several different dimensions and areas today. The changes, which have been occurring in the art of Bartin’s wire-breaking embroidery from past to present, are worth considering and examining.
This study, which is conducted by prioritizing the information gathered from Bartin province, is of significance for recording the changes in Bartin’s wire-breaking embroidery tradition from past to present.
