Abstract
SOME DETERMINATIONS ABOUT AUTHOR CONFUSION OF THE WORK CALLED SEB‘ATU EBHUR WHICH ATTRIBUTED TO ALÎ ŞÎR NEVÂÎ
In manuscript catalogues, a dictionary called Seb‘atu Ebhur is registered under the name of Ali Şîr Nevâî. There has been no study on this Arabic work. However, two articles (Agâh Sırrı Levend, “Nevâî’nin Arapça Sözlüğü”, Türk Dili Araştırmaları Yıllığı Belleten, Ankara, 1956, 239-249; Ahmed Ateş “Ali Şîr Nevâî’nin Arapça Sözlüğü Hakkında”, Türk Dili Araştırmaları Yıllığı Belleten, Ankara, 1957, 183-188.) published the mentioned literary work in 1956 and 1957. With the available data, one introduce and the other one is ask whether the literary work belongs to Ali Şîr Nevâî. Another work registered in the catalogues under the name Seb‘atü Ebhur belongs to Abdülcelîl bin Yûsuf el-Akhisarî. These two works are also confused with each other in biographical sources. Our aim is not to clarify the issue of whether Seb‘atü Ebhur, which was introduced by Agâh Sırrı Levend in 1957 to the world of knowledge, and also Ahmed Ateş has been evaluated it, belongs to Ali Şîr Nevâî. Our aim is to point out that the opinion that the Arabic-Arabic mentioned in Ahmed Ateş’s article may belong to Abdülcelîl bin Yûsuf from Akhisar cannot be true and to provide information about this person and his work. Thus, the information inaccuracies in successive sources will be slightly improved and confusion will be prevented.
