Abstract
AS A HELPFUL METHOD FOR EXAMINING LITERATURE TEXTS “CONTEXTUAL INDEX AND FUNCTIONAL DICTIONARY”: EXAMPLE OF MEZÂKÎ’S DIVAN
In this study, there are various detections and evaluations in the context of doctoral thesis named “Dictionary of Mezâkî’s Divan [Contextual Index and Functional Dictionary]” that we have prepared about Divan of Mezâkî Süleyman Dede Bosnevî who is 17th Century poets in classical Turkish literature.
In our study, after giving information about the contextual index and functional dictionary method, the life of the poet Mezâkî and his literary personality were emphasized. Afterwards, It was given information about the shape and type characteristics of poems on the divan and was started the research of the Mezâkî divan with the help of contextual index and functional dictionary method. In this context, the word and word groups have been evaluated in terms of meaning under the headings of “âşık-maşuk-rakip”, “rint-zahit”, “happiness-sadness” et al. Afterwards, in our study was focused on the language and stylistic features of the divan. In this context, “phrases”, “verbs and compound verbs”, “mold expressions” et al. word types have been identified in the divan and the poet was evaluated in terms of language and style. Finally, in our study it was emphasized the personality and heroes mentioned in the Mezâkî’s divan. As a result, with this work it is targeted to be present the literary identity of poet Mezâkî based on his divan and being an example of other studies in this area with the method we used.
